"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences. "

The birthday celebration

Here's a recap of the daughter's birthday.
Warning: it's a long one kids, buckle up!
We celebrated by going to Chuck E. Cheese with our close friends Saturday morning. We decided to party in the morning to try and bet the crowds as best as possible. Turns out we had the place to ourselves for the first 45 minutes...sweet! The kids had a blast, I found a coupon that made the trip only cost $10 (that's right only $10) and it was surprisingly relaxing for the adults, which may be a first!
Then we let her choose where we went for lunch, she chose Red Robin. Why Red Robin you ask? Because she wanted someone to sing to her and give her ice cream with sprinkles. Sounds like a good reason to me!
Finally figured out how to drink from a straw
Here is the only cake/candle picture we have because I had planned on making her a big pink princess cake on her actually birthday. Unfortunately, she came down with the stomach flu an hour after this picture and had no desire for food of any kind after that.
On her actually birthday talking to Aunt Mindy. She had many phone calls wishing her a Happy Birthday. The calls really made her day!
The one thing she asked for...a pink scooter.
Opening presents that her family had sent her.
The little man trying to resist opening the presents...good boy!
Overall, I think she had a great birthday and she is super excited to be 5. Now she would like to go to kindergarten tomorrow. It may be a long rest of the school year! :)

My kids love to eat at Red Robin. They will almost always choose it. Sounds like she got in her birthday fun just in time!
