March in Review

Looked at the calendar this evening and could hardly believe that we only have a few days left of April. Eek! We are well into the second quarter of the year....where is the time going? Guess, I'd better review March before May is here.

March was a super busy but great month here at our house. Here's a rundown of some of the excitment:

The Daughter started off the month with her first soccer game of the season & has had one every Saturday since. She is loving it and has made some great gains.

The Little Man has been thoroughly enjoying watching home videos of himself. I've been trying to video him making verbal attempts and documenting the many skills he has recently mastered as a point of reference for the future. They'll be great reminders of how far he's come.

Randy went on his first business trip and we all survived. :)

We met Ryan & Family for an afternoon of roller skating. Sadly our kids have only been skating once or twice, but both enjoyed it. In fact, The Little Man loved it and coped extremely well with the very overwhelming environment. The Daughter is even thinking about getting skates so she can figure out the art of skating over the summer.

Celebrated Pi Day by making pies. The Daughter thought it was super cool, even though she has no idea what Pi is.

The Daughter got a telescope and has enjoyed staying up late to look at the moon.

 The Daughter came up with her own costume all on her own for Seuss day at school to celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday.

 The Little Man had to have allergy testing done after last month's crazy allergic reaction to a unknown substance. We discovered that he has an anaphylactic allergy to cashew nuts. Yep, one kiddo with a peanut allergy, the other with a tree nut allergy. We can't have anything delicious around anymore.

 The preferred way sandwiches are made for lunch. Love my big metal Wiltons cookie cutters, they don't waste any of the sandwich.

The Little Man spent the day with me teaching at Camp Jalopy. He did awesome! Better than I could have ever imagined and we had a lot of fun together. 

Camp Jalopy is a practice "Camp" day where the kids learn what is expected of them in preparation for Camp Wooten.

Everyone was feeling under the weather, we declared a PJ day and spent it curled up watching movies together. 

The Little Man & I joined The Daughter & friends for Jogging at recess time. Enjoy spending time with those sweet girls.

We've made it to 25 weeks! Almost through the second trimester. The daughter & I went shopping and bought our first little baby thing...starting to feel more real.

Well, and working too...

The Daughter got her EARS PIERCED! Randy even took pictures to document the event for me! So proud. :)

She's done a fantastic job of caring for them. Very proud of how responsible she has become.

There you have it, another month documented.

Wooten 2012

Another awesome week of teaching at Camp Wooten with our school's 5th graders has come and gone again. We had an unusually small group of kids this year making for a much more laid back schedule and the chance to get to know more students. A nice change of pace. 

The Compass class team. As always we had super duper T.A.'s helping to make sure that all our students returned from their trekking. It takes many people to make this class go smoothly.  Thanks guys for all of your help!

The WOW (Women of Wooten)...a force to be reckoned with.

My sister & I.  I really enjoyed working with her this year. she's really starting to step out of her shell and learning to lead. It's been a fun process to witness & was super helpful this year.

Our some what smaller staff...less kids = less staff. As always, a great team to work with. They make the week a blast.

Lastly, Me, My Mom & Sister...it's always nice to have family around.

Now that the inventory has been completed, things have been packed away, and notes for next year have been made, it's time to enjoy a few months off before we start prepping again.... :)

A HUGE thanks goes out to Randy for playing Mr.Mom while I was gone. He did an awesome job running kids around and holding down the fort. I know it's not an easy week for him and I appreciate all that he so willingly did. Love ya, Ran!

February Review

Despite being a month behind on posting, we're still going strong on the Picture a Day challenge. Hooray!

February, while short was a huge month for us. Big decisions where made and exciting things learned. So let's get down to it. In addition to; announcing to the world that we where expecting, hosting a big super bowl party, going to the big 20 week ultrasound and find out it's a girl, & building a fort we also...

Have been enjoying technology and the chance to FaceTime with Our Missionaries on a regular basis. Makes it feel like they aren't so far away. Enjoy hearing all about their experiences in Germany and being able to share the happens of our lives with them. So very thankful for technology. We love you!

 Babysat my Sister's munkins while she finished up her externship. The Little Man was obsessed with baby A and loved feeding her & taking care of her every need whenever she made a peep. To say he hovers over her would be an understatement. Hopeful, he'll love his new baby sister at least half as much.

The Little Man looks forward to Friday mornings and being able to watch the garbage man & his fancy truck dumping all the cans. Love that our garbage man honks and waves to him as he passes. Can't wait for it to be warmer so we get a better view & maybe find out his name. Is that weird?

Most of the FamLee came home for a visit. It was our first time hosting everyone since Val & Duane left on their adventure. Judging by the way everyone settled in for naps almost immediately, I think they still felt at home. Or we're just that boring.....

It felt so good to have everyone here & gathered around the table for a meal. It still takes a bit of work & strategy to fit everyone around the table even with a few adults missing but totally worth it! Felt just like the many holiday meals we've enjoyed together sitting three to a piano bench and practically sitting on each others laps. :)

Tried a new whole wheat bread recipe that is a keeper! Love that The Little Man enjoys helping me in the kitchen. He currently loves to stir anything & spread things like butter and jam for sandwiches.

Spring soccer season kicked off for the The Daughter with practice starting the last week of the month. It's FREEZING but she's loving being back at the game and hanging out with her friends.

Not sure if it's the year of Randy, but it sure is the month of Randy! He received a job offer out of the blue from a local company that would get him back in the field of his degree & get us all health insurance again. After many, many prayers we decided to take the risk and accept the offer. He finished out the month at Elevate and said his good-byes to a team of people that he has truly enjoyed working with and started a new chapter. It was really hard for him to leave such great people but luckily they've all stayed in contact and still do lunch together once a week. Thank you Elevate for being such a great employer for the past three years.

The Daughter took a tumble off her scooter and banged up her face real good. This picture was taken about week and 1/2 into the healing process. It was just too fleshy for me to take a picture of before this point. Proud of how calm she was when she came in to get help & completely amazed at how fast her little body healed.

 A kind note found on my computer one day. Man, I <3 The Daughter!

 It was a wet month, perfect for experimenting with prints. We put on lots of different shoes to see the different prints they leave. He loved it!

Speaking of rain, my Mom found the kids fun rain boots. The Little Man loves his so much that he hardly ever takes them off. Which is incredible for a little boy that has struggled with wearing shoes his whole life. Now if only they'd let him wear them at school, the mornings would go much smoother.
