A baby shower work of art

298 diapers, 1 large box of rubber bands, 5 yards of ribbon, some Cardboard, a crazy lady, a few afternoons & some silhouette fun = the worlds best diaper cake ever!Made for a friend's baby shower. Can't wait to meet the lil' cowboy!

Birthday Shirt

Whipped up this shirt for my little sister's Birthday. I always try to do something special for her while we are at camp together each year. Happy Birthday, Krissy!

Have I mentioned how much I love my Silhouette? Yep, I used it to create the template for the design & cut the heat transfer flocking. Now I'm dreaming up Vacation shirts for our up coming California trip..... :)

Apron Making Round 2

Heads up: When life my life gets super CRAZY, I found I need to work on something crafty and fun to help relieve the stress before heading to bed. It makes life so much easier to deal with in the AM for me. Now you know the more crafts I'm doing the more crazy my life currently is. :)

Flirty Apron Making...

When the women are left on their own for a weekend, you can bet we'll be getting our craft on! Randy, his brothers, and father all left for a road trip to Idaho to drop off the newly returned missionary at college (he starts BYU-I Monday), and I had the perfect craft project we could all do together. I found this A-line apron pattern awhile ago and have been dieing for time to whip one up for the past month but Christmas project came first.

A Birthday Crown

Here's a little something I whipped up moments before heading off to camp to surprise my little sister with.
Her Birthday was mid camp week and she just happened to be coming to camp this year...he,he,he! If you know my little sister at all you know that she doesn't enjoy public attention. So what did I do...Yep that's right, I announced it in the dinning hall during breakfast & had everyone sing to her. Then at lunch we had her stand on the milk crates in front of everyone (complete with crown) to present her with an ice cream sundae & one more round of "Happy Birthday!"
I love you kiddo!Happy 20th Birthday Krystal!!! I hope it was a memorable day filled with lots of love and well wishes.

A finished quilt

I have finally finished yet another project that had been started years ago. That's right, after years of taking up room on my desk, it is now COMPLETELY DONE! All it took was working on it in the dinning room to keep me motivated to finish it...I hate clutter!

A finished project!

That's right, I have finally finished my clock! Being the perfectionist that I am, I am not totally happy with it...but I don't have time to deal with it. I am calling it done!

Graduation weekend

I can't believe that this weekend is almost upon us! At times it felt like it would never get here and now here we are! I am so proud of Randy and all that he has acomplished.

To save myself from anwsering the same questions over & over again, this is our the plan for the weekend (you can all still call...I promise I am not being beast :) Just trying to make sure the same info is given to everyone.)

Sleeping Arangements:

Val & Duane - the spare room

Ryan & Megan - the office (w/ air mattress)

Mindy - has reserved the couch months ago (which Randy has always said is quite comfy)

Melanie, Richie, & Linda - have prime living room floor space

**Everyone needs to bring there own pillows or make arrangements (sorry but I don't have extras).

Friday

Dinner - Asian chicken salads

Treat - Chocolate fondue (yummy!)

Saturday

Breakfast - Costco Muffins & fruit

Lunch - cursant deli sandwiches & salads

Dinner - Taco bar

Treat - Costco cake (I am SO excited!)

The Activites:

*I have to make a run down to Clarkston to pickup the food in the afternoon.

*Hang out & enjoy the only nice day we are forcasted to have during the weekend.

*Play games & enjoy chocolate fondue in the evening.

Saturday

*Wander campus & town in the AM

*Graduation @ 3pm (we need to be there no later than 2:30)

*Eat food, play games, laugh, & be together. (it will be a blast!)

Sunday

*I have no idea...we will figure it out when we know what everyone's plans are.

Hope this covers everything. We still have plenty of space, if you are still wanting to come. The bathtubs & hallways are still empty or heck bring a tent! I think it will be a fun weekend & I really want to make it a big deal after all Randy has worked so hard for this!

A baby shower book

So I made this to minibook for my sister's baby shower. It was a lot of fun to make & I think she liked it. It included current news headlines, places to record her pregnancy, places for her guests to leave advice & wishes, a place to record all of the gifts she receive (& a place mark when she sends thank yous), as well as places to place pictures of the shower and pockets for cards & such. I really think this one came out cute & I totally loved it!

One more thing done...

It feels so good to have one more thing crossed off my to do list. I love making my christmas cards every year. I lovehaving a good excuse to try out new ideas/products until I find the prefect card (or two or three...) These are this year's winners...

This year my daughter wanted to make cards too with the "big kids stamps". We had a blast working on them together. These are her one of a kind creations... If you are really lucky you might just find one in your mail box! : )

The famlee memory game...

I have received many requests to share pictures of the memory games that I created. So now that I have given them all out I can finally share with all of you.

These are the cards for the game. The game contains two duplicate pictures of every member of the family (this set was for my daughter so it contains both my family & my husbands family).

These are the super CUTE tins I made to hold the cards. Okay, so I didn't make the actual tin but I did decorate them : )

For those that I did not give a game to, I gave them this little coaster accordion book with all the family pictures. I absolutely love the way these turned out & am going to have to make one for myself now!

Please ignore the mess on my desk. This is how my desks have looked since I started all the Christmas projects months ago. I can't wait to get them all done so I can get organized again!

More details on the ornaments...

I am SO embarrassed that such a horrible picture of these ornaments was posted on Paper Pals blog that I just had to post a better picture. Teach me to point & shoot without paying attention to lighting. Anyways, here is a better picture. I will say that it was totally cool that they posted a project of mine when there are some many more talented Pals!


So here is how I made them:

I found unfinished 1 1/2 inch blocks at Michaels, painted them with acrylic paint, photoshopped the pictures to 1.3 inch squares & printed, used word art to created my text & printed, used Modge Podge to adhered the pictures & text, then covered the entire block with modge podge to seal, when dry screwed eyelet hooks in the top & added ribbon. That was it...super simple! I was able to make 20 of these over two evenings. Keep in mind that I have two young children, so I'm never able to devote my full attention to a project : ) It could be done faster, I am sure!

My new favorite toys...I mean tools : )

I 'm pretty sure that I have established that I love making Chirstmas gifts for everyone and with making the gifts I get to buy new toys. I can always justify buying new tools & supplies when I am working on projects for others.

I have fallen in love with Stazon white ink & my new acrylic stamps. Aren't they just the coolest? This ink works on everything you could think of and actually works best on nonpourous serfices. My favorite thing to do with the ink is stamp on pictures.

Here's what I did tonight...what did you do?

I spent the evening with the gals at Paper Pals. We had a blast chatting & creating our Christmas cards together. Aren't they SO cute? I bet you can't wait to get yours. : )

I have spent the last couple weeks working on Christmas presents for everyone and it has been killing me not being able to share what I have been up to with all of you. I am not sure what has been harder; not sharing my projects or resisting giving the gifts now! I love making things for people (especially our family) but have the hardest time not giving it as soon as it is done. Maybe I should procrastinate more so that I would not have to wait as long. : )

E6000...

This is amazing stuff! It has to be amazing with a name like E6000... right? I was desperately in need of something that would hold embellishments on my projects and was introduced to this thanks to Shawna. It's great ... not only does it hold ribbon, buttons, & metal tags on my pages but also can repairs & seal conveyor belts, fiberglass, metal. Plus it gives you a nice buzz while using it (note to self: next time open the window : ) ).
