"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences. "

Oh the places we'll go! Vacation - Day 6

Wednesday 8/4

We had yet another lazy morning (which the kids needed after being out so late last night) and got to the park just in time for our 10 o’clock priority seating at the Plaza Inn Character Breakfast.

While there we met:

Fairy Godmother

Chip & Dale

One of them stopped to play cars with Josh. After that he was totally fine with Dale (maybe it was Chip….I have no idea) getting close to him. In fact he even tried to share his breakfast. It was so nice to see a character recognize his needs and find another way to interact with him.

Honest John (from Pinocchio)

He took Randy’s hat and gave him a hard time about his lack of hair on top his head.

Captain Hook

He promised not to lay a hand...or a hook on her or her brother.

Max

Rafiki

Eyore

And Pooh Bear.

Towards the end of the meal The Little Man had had enough of sitting around so Randy took him to ride Mr. Toads while The Daughter & I waited to see the last character (Pooh).

Once we where finished at the Plaza we went to meet up with Randy and stopped along the way to ride the Teacups because there was no line. Then hopped in line to visit Alice & the Mad Hatter. We got all the way to the front of the line and they said they had to go to a tea party and walked off. Totally crushed The Daughter. Because of that experience she didn’t want to get in line to see anymore characters that day. They might just walk off when she got to them. Kind of sad. :(

Once we had the family all together we let the kids knock on the White Rabbits door and then we wandered over to Disney’s California Adventure (DCA) to ride the new Toy Story Mania ride. It was the longest line we waited in our entire vacation, coming in at just over 45 minutes, but it was totally worth it. Here's The Daughter sporting the super cool 3D glasses...

We rode King Tritian’s carousel twice and headed back to the hotel for rest time. We stopped at the hotel lobby to pick up Quizno’s (used the gift card…hooray for another free meal!) Everyone was restless so we scrapped the whole rest idea and headed back to the park after only being in the room for an hour.

Rode all the Bugs Land rides in DCA. This has got to be the worlds slowest ride ever! Oh well, the kids still enjoyed it.

Next we got in line for the Aladdin show. Our vacation package came with Priority seating tickets to this show. Basically what it meant was we still had to line up a half hour before the show (just like everyone else) but we would be let in and able to choose our seats before the general public was admitted. We got really nice seats and met a super nice family while waiting. I love talking with people as we wait in line. Finding out where there from, what they've enjoyed and especially hear magical things that have happened while on vacation. :)

The Aladdin Musical was amazing! I highly recommend seeing it if you are ever in the park. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

The Little Man was getting cranky and was exhausted. We figured doing anything other than getting some food would more than likely guarantee a meltdown. So we grab dinner at the Warf. Soup in a bread bowl…oh, how I enjoy thee! Before our order was up The Little Man had crashed. Randy, also being a joy (can you say...tired?), took him back to the hotel and they where both out for the night.

The Daughter & I stayed rode a few rides & watched the new World of Color water show (It was pretty impressive.) and search for the few penny smashing machines left on our list.

Here we are tuckered out and ready to call it a night.
