"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences. "

Oh the places we'll go! Vacation - Day 4

Monday 8/2

We headed to the park early for the ToonTown Morning Madness Party (tickets where included in our travel package). The kids enjoyed the little show and exploring ToonTown before it was opened to the general public. We walked right on to the little roller coaster three times in a row. The kids loved it.

Visited with the White Rabbit & the Queen of Hearts on Main Street.

While The Daughter waited her turn with the Queen, The Little Man & I found a quiet place to wait because he was not doing well in line and could careless at seeing another Character. While waiting Bert approached The Little Man, who was sitting in the stroller reading his favorite big books, and asked if he could read him a book. So they read together and made the various car noises until The Daughters return.

Upon The Daughters return, Bert turned his attention to her and asked about meeting the Queen of Hearts. The Daughter encouraged him to be brave (something I tell her a lot) and then they talked about London for a few moments before he had to be off.

Bert spent 15 minutes with our family. No one was waiting for him and it seemed as if his only thing he had to do that day was to visit with my kids. He respected The Little Man’s rather large personal bubble & followed his lead. Disney magic at its best! FYI: Turns out Bert’s favorite type of vehicle is a Fire truck. J

We rode Teacups all together a few times. Randy & The Daughter rode Thunder mtn. x2 while Josh & I rode Winnie the Pooh over and over again. At that point The Little Man was at breakdown point & everyone was hungry so we got hand dipped corn dogs from the Corn Dog cart and headed back to the hotel to rest.

While the boys rested, I taught The Daughter the basics of Uno. We removed all the special cards (draw 4, draw 2, reverse, etc.) and as she got the hang of it we would add one type of card back in. We both enjoyed it.

After rest time we headed back to the park, The Little Man feel asleep, we watch the parade, rode thunder mountain (again), and splash mountain. Ate Dinner at Rancho Del Zocalo (yuummm!) and rode Pirate of the Caribbean & The Haunted Mansion. The littlest things seemed to send The Little Man into breakdown mode so Randy took him back to the hotel. He made him a jelly sandwich which he actually ate (he hadn’t eaten a single thing we had given him that day) and let him play in the tub for a very long time. It was just what he needed.

The Daughter & I stayed at the park and rode Thunder mountain (yes that would be 4 times today….you think she likes it?), the Matterhorn, and Autopia.

Midway through the road course The Daughter says, while laughing hysterically, “I hope they don’t have videos ‘cus I’m a super bad driver!”. All the while we are bouncing from curb to curb. Needless to say we laughed so hard our sides hurt. I can't image what it will be like teaching her to drive a really car. Luckily we have a few years. :)

We watched the end of the fireworks as we head back to the hotel and slept great that night. :)
