"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences. "

The work has only just begun...

After loading up all of our earthly possessions,Saying good-bye to great friends (sigh), Traveling late into the nightand unloading said possessions, the work had only just begun.

First we had to emptied the house of all the things that had been left behind (still working on that one, actually) and stripped the hideous wall paper with our awesome steaming skills.Cleaned up the huge wallpaper mess. Yes, he's raking the shag...in an attempt to free it from all the wall paper goo. Painted over very poor paint choices.Discovered many "quirks" and are busy working on putting the house back together.
Stay tune for the before and after pictures once I get things unpacked.

Sending a big THANK YOU to all the friends and family that have helped with this adventure. We truly appreciate everyone's willingness to help and are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.

The move

Join me on a recap of our move.

Monday:
It took one trailer, three vehicles, most of a day and great Pullman friends to fit all of our stuff in. (I do have one question...Where did all that stuff come from?)We hurried & cleaned the old apt. & we headed to the Tri-Cities in time to hit a horrible wind storm.

[In the frantic fight to fit everything in & get things clean, I neglected to take any pictures...I can't believe it!]

Tuesday:
Here is the van all loaded up with happy kids and all...
The drive started out uneventful, with the normal "are we there yet?" questions and potty stops until we hit Cabbage Hill...that was when it really got fun! It was blizzard like conditions with 3-4 inches of snow on the road. Ya, it's June...must be global warming?! (I didn't dare attempt to take a picture while driving in the snow...this is in La Grande)
All is well...everyone made it through the pass and were enjoying the "Across the Universe" soundtrack (BTW...love it) when this happened to the trailer...
Luckily Dad was able to keep the trailer under control & get it to the side of the road. No worries...we had a spare. The Boys (really my Dad) were able to get the spare on and we then had to search for a the nearest tire shop.
We were able to find a truck stop & get a new tire...things were good again!
Only 35 miles to go...it's a bit hard to focus & drive at the same time...will have to work on that :)
Finally at our new house
Let's get the stuff unloaded
Dang...that trailer is full!
A super helper
Now we are left with a sea of boxes that we are slowly but surely getting unpacked and having some fun in our new town in between. Thank you so much to everyone that helped us with the move...we greatly appreciate it! :)
[stay tune...once things are unpacked I will post some pictures of the house that we are loving]

Good bye...

With happy tears in our eyes we say good bye to many great friends and fond memories. We have truly grown to love the Palouse & the people that have surrounded us for the past three years and now we move on to new adventures. So we say "Ta, Ta for now" and hope to always stay in touch.

A place to call home

Yep, that's right we finally have a place to live in Boise when we get there(in 2-weeks). Nothing like coming down to the last few weeks to make you sweat! Our faith has been tested, our testimonies have grown & we have found a place that while we may not have original considered it, is prefect for our family. Now that we have housing figured out, lets get this move over with!!!
