April in Review

It's the first day of June. You know what that means? I'd better get April posted right NOW! The months are flying by and things are just as busy as ever so let's get right down to it.

In no particular order, here's what we were up to in April...

Randy worked hard and is still enjoying his new job. This is his office. Homey, huh?

Saturday mornings where spent at The Daughter's soccer games. Her favorite positions where goalie and forward. 

Here's The Little Man class getting on their designated buses to go home after a fun day at school.

We took the kids to see The Lorax... finally. The Daughter had been begging to see it for weeks.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate my niece's 4th Birthday. The kids had a blast. This might come as a shook but I hate that place. It's dirty, the foods crummy and children run wild with no parental supervision. ugh.

Homework time. We do homework right after school. It works the best for us. The Little Man is normally so excited for The Daughter to get home he is often found right at her side. He has his own "homework" he works on in between trying to get her to play instead. She does a great job despite the distractions.

The Little Man goes to Speech Therapy 2-3 times a week. We are blessed to have an amazing therapist that pushes him and loves him all at the same time.

I got to chug this yummy stuff and hang out at the lab for three hours while they drew my blood every hour because I failed my first glucose test. Luckily, I passed this test...barely. I'm considered glucose intolerant and just have to watch my sugars at this point. No meds so far. Whew!

The Daughter learned to mow the lawn and now is mowing every Saturday. Randy mows the edges and hills and she does the rest. Fun to watch her becoming a contributor and enjoy it.

The Little Man has found the baby bump to be perfect napping place and will curl up with my belly & fall fast asleep often these days.

Meet StickLee, The Duaghter's new pet. He's a stick bug and one of the easiest pets to care for.

Still keeping up on the picture a day challenge. I send them to Costco to be printed every couple of weeks. The Daughter & I often use it as an excuse to go out and get ice cream together. :)

The Little Man got to do a 3 day colon cleanse due to developing a blockage. It was quite the crazy adventure to say the least. He's battled with constipation his whole life and it has been getting worse and worse. He get's to take MiraLAX daily now to see if we can't get things moving better.

The Little Man loves to look at the turtle and snakes when we pick up The Daughter from working at my parents store.

We had most of the FamLee here over Easter weekend. It was a packed house and at times a bit crazy but it was so nice to have everyone gathered together.

While everyone was here, we dyed eggs and had a Easter feast. Fun was had by all.

The little Man had another day of appointments with the specialist at Children's hospital regarding his many developmental delays. The biggest news from the visit was the classification change from developmentally delayed to Developmentally Disabled and the official diagnose of Autism Spectrum Disorder. It's all very emotional but will help us in our battle with the school district as we find the right programs for next year. Thankful to have such wonderful specialist here and in Seattle to rally around us and a support us is the challenging moments and help us celebrate the great gains The Little Man has made. Maybe one of theses days I'll share the details of the emotional journey we've been on for the past several years.

And I think that sums up April. Did lots and learned lots. Now to start on May. :)
