P365 intro & January review

In the fall of 2008 the amazing Becky Higgins put out a photo challenge called Project 365. The challenge: to take a photo a day for an entire year to document the little things in life. At that time we had recently moved states, and I thought it would be the perfect way to document the new post-college life we were creating. So Jan. 1st, 2009 I eagerly started snapping pictures. Little did we know that Randy would be laid off a month later, that the economy would crash as bad as it did, that finding a job would take months,and that we would move states again. Not only were these hard life changing events documented but also all the blessings (some big, some small) that came with them of them. 2009 was a year we look back on with fond memories, because we were able to find so much joy in each challenge that came our way. Something I had no idea of when I set out to do this challenge back in 2008.

So with that experience in mind, I'm taking on the challenge again. 2012 will be another year filled with ups and downs and many, many blessings. And each will be recorded.


To kick this 2012 challenge off, and to add some visual interest to this wordy post, here some of our January highlights:

Randy's been rocking out on his Ukulele he got for Christmas...Love when he sings/plays "Over the Rainbow."

We welcomed a beautiful little girl into the Long family, when my little Sister had her baby. We've gotten to spend a lot of time snuggling her, and my kiddos can't get enough of her.

Randy & I both got new callings in our new ward. Me: Young Womens Secretary. Randy: Young Mens Secretary.  Needless to say our Sundays & Wednesdays are a bit crazy!

 We got a new video game, Disneyland Adventures, that has sucked us all in. The details are incredible. Unfortantely, it has not satisfied our desires to go back. If anything it makes us want to go right now! Disney vacations are the best!

We tracked our Missionaries as they spent the day flying across the world to Frankfurt Germany. It was fun to watch the little airplane slowly make it's way across the Atlantic.

The Little Man had an allergic reaction (which involved hives, face swelling, & VOMITING) at my first presidency meeting. Way to make first impressions! He spent the rest of the day on the couch, heavily drugged. We see an allergist to do a full food panel in the next few weeks.

We enjoyed some snow days together. The Little Man overcame his hatred of the snow and went from fighting us to go outside to fighting us to come inside. The Daughter is super helpful with keeping up with the shoveling.

Randy taught the kids how to enjoy hot cocoa and toast. One of his favorite winter treats.

Lots of moving happened. We emptied our storage unit & furniture has been moved from room to room as we are working to merge two households worth of stuff.

"oh, TOODLES..." The Little Man has been obsessed with the show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You can find him answering their questions and acting the show out as he watches. Very cute!

It's been a good month!
